Inaugural Horse Industry Safety Summit  
Tuesday, April 23rd, 7:30 am – 6:30 pm at Spindletop Hall, 3414 Iron Works Pike

The event focuses solely on ways to keep riders and handlers safe and will host researchers, equestrians and equine enthusiasts in a format that combines expert panels, individual speakers and poster presentations.

Cross Country Course Walk with Elisa Wallace
Thursday, April 25, 3 pm – 4:30 pm, meet at Fence 1, presented by Buckeye Nutrition

Get the inside scoop on how riders tackle this big cross country course from top rider Elisa Wallace, who is also the 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover Champion.

RRP Scavenger Hunt 
April 25th – 27th, Trade Fair

Stop by the RRP Booth to pick up your scavenger hunt passport, solve the clues and collect stamps from participating vendors and turn in your passport by 3PM Saturday. Complete the hunt and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of three gift baskets and a free Thoroughbreds of the KY 3-Day poster.

Riders at the top of their disciplines present their 2019 Thoroughbred Makeover hopefuls. 

New Vocations Open Barn and BBQ
Friday, April 26th, 5:30 – 8:30 pm, Mereworth Farm

A celebration of Thoroughbreds in second careers, enjoy tours, a meet-and-greet with the horses, demonstrations and a delicious BBQ meal. Four-star eventer Nick Larkin is the featured presenter for the evening, along with Jen Roytz as moderator.

Joyce Brinsfield is a professional from Versailles, KY and she has extensive experience on the A circuit as well as coaching clients to Maclay Regionals, Pony Finals, and major indoors. She also serves as the KHJA board president and local judge. Joyce placed 2nd in Hunters in the 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover.

Rosie Napravnik is a professional from Simpsonville, KY. She is the second highest earning female jockey, two-time Kentucky Oaks winner (2012 and 2014, first female winner), and two-time Breeders’ Cup Winner (2012 Juvenile and 2014 Distaff, female BC wins record-holder). Rosie Retired from racing, and she is now devoting her career to transitioning Thoroughbreds into homes as sport horses. Rosie’s previous Makeovers inlcude: 2015 Thoroughbred Makeover, 14th Eventing, 2017 Thoroughbred Makeover, 13th Eventing, and 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover, 3rd Eventing.

Elisa is also known for her successes with Mustang Makeover. Elisa’ previous Makeovers include: 2016 Thoroughbred Makeover, 2nd Eventing, 2017 Thoroughbred Makeover, 26th and 29th Eventing, and 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover, 1st and 4th Eventing, America’s Most Wanted Thoroughbred w. Dorothy Crowell is a professional from Frankfort, KY. She is an international event rider. Her career highlights on Molokai (JC Surf Scene 1983-2013):USET for Eventing, 1992 and 1996 Olympics, 1994 WEG Individual Silver Medalist, 1998 Kentucky CCI 4* National Champion (second to Aussie Nick Larkin on another OTTB, Red), Molokai was inducted to the USEA Hall of Fame in 2015. Dorothy’s previous Makeovers include: 2016 Thoroughbred Makeover, 26th Eventing, 2017 Thoroughbred Makeover, 23rd Eventing.
