ASPCA Right Horse Adoption Barn

Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium: October 9^th – 12^th, 2024 at the Kentucky Horse Park Adoption Barn

Move-In & Move-Out: Stalls will be available for move in as early as Monday, October 7^th at noon; stalls must be vacated Sunday morning, October 13^th.

Registration Deadline: September 20^th

44 stalls are open for reservation on a first come, first served basis. Stalls will be limited to four per organization at first, but additional stalls may be made available closer to the event depending on pick-up.

The ASPCA Right Horse Adoption Barn will be open to any Thoroughbred of any age or background. It is highly encouraged to bring Thoroughbreds that are eligible for a future Makeover.

Participation in the Adoption Barn is open to any ASPCA Right Horse Adoption Partner organization or Warm-Up Ring participants that are actively progressing toward partnership. This year, the Adoption Barn will also be open to non-profit organizations who are not currently Right Horse partners.

Horses who are entered to compete in the 2024 Thoroughbred Makeover from non-profits who are not currently RH partners are not eligible to be stabled in the Adoption Barn.

Stalls will be available at no cost. Organizations will be responsible for their stabling supplies, hay, feed, bedding, and KHP parking.

Horses will need to comply with established health documentation requirements for the Thoroughbred Makeover:

• Proof of negative Coggins (12 months)
• Health certificate (30 days out of Kentucky, 12 months in Kentucky)
• Proof of EHV-1 vaccination no more than six months (April 7^th) and no less than 14 days (September 23^rd) prior to arrival at the Horse Park.

The RRP will create a directory of participating organizations to be included in the digital and print version of the Marketplace catalog which will direct shoppers to check out the organizations and browse their available horses in the Adoption Barn. Each participating organization will also be introduced on RRP's social media in the lead-up to the 2024 Thoroughbred Makeover.

The RRP invests considerable resources in marketing the Makeover Marketplace and the Adoption Barn will be included in that marketing plan.

The ASPCA Right Horse program will also promote Adoption Barn horses via MyRightHorse.org.

Adoption Barn Webinar: September 10th at 2pm EST RRP will host an Adoption Barn webinar via Zoom for all participating organizations to discuss the Makeover event, Adoption Barn etiquette, and answer any questions! This webinar will be recorded and accessible for any who cannot attend.

Organizations are encouraged to bring signage and promotional materials for their stalls, and may elect to use one of their stalls for tack/storage, informational tables, etc. The ASPCA Right Horse team will reach out about creating stall cards for specific horses.
