The Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, presented by Thoroughbred Charities of America, is the banner event of the Retired Racehorse Project, a 501(c)3 charitable organization whose mission is to increase demand for off-track Thoroughbreds. The Makeover is the biggest and most lucrative retraining competition in the world for recently-retired racehorses, offering over $100,000 in prize money.
Hundreds of off-track Thoroughbreds will compete at the 2025 Thoroughbred Makeover on October 8-11 at the Kentucky Horse Park. The competition has been covered by The Horse, Bloodhorse, Paulick Report, Thoroughbred Daily News, The Chronicle of the Horse, Daily Racing Form, and many more.

General Media Policy
Credentialed media representatives have access to the entire grounds at the Thoroughbred Makeover, including the barns and ringside at all competition areas. Media may not shoot from inside competition areas. Please note that the official show photographer and RRP media staff take priority in ringside shooting locations during competition and awards ceremonies.
Media representatives are invited to the Thoroughbred Makeover on assignment from a publication, news service, website, radio or television station.
All media representatives must wear their credentials identifying them as accredited media at all times when using their camera. Lost credentials must be replaced and will be subjected to a $50 fee.
There is no formal dress code, but media representatives are asked to present themselves professionally.
