In 2014 the RRP received the Thoroughbred Charities of America Industry Service Award and also hired its first full-time staff member, Kirsten Green, who started as a volunteer with the organization in 2013.
The second Thoroughbred Makeover was again hosted at Pimlico and was a showcase competition that featured a horse trained in each of the ten disciplines offered at the event to this day. Olympian Philip Dutton won aboard stakes horse, Icabad Crane. The 2014 Makeover was also the first year of the Makeover Marketplace, a unique horse-shopping opportunity which now serves over 100 horses each year.
