It’s more than just a horse show — while the experience may culminate in those four days at the Kentucky Horse Park in October, the Makeover truly is a journey. Participating trainers can reap the benefits of RRP-sponsored educational opportunities, including interactive webinars focused on nutrition and health plus informative content in print and online.
Additionally, no one goes on their Makeover journey alone: the community of Makeover trainers past and present in the trainers-only Facebook group have formed a supportive network of Thoroughbred enthusiasts who are always ready to cheer each other on and encourage each other when facing big challenges or setbacks. That attitude of teamwork and camaraderie carries over to the Makeover itself, which has been described as one of the friendliest horse shows in the world.
The Thoroughbred Makeover is so much more than a competition: it’s a community-based program to help equestrians shape their first year of post-track retraining to work towards a common goal. Will you be starting YOUR journey with the Thoroughbred Makeover this year? Applications are accepted through January 15.
