Valerie is a lifelong horse enthusiast who has supported RRP for over a decade. Born in Canada, she started her competitive career in the Hunter division while also fox hunting and breeding sport horses. An offtrack thoroughbred mare led to a love of Dressage. Graduating from McMaster University and the Ontario Teacher’s College she combined her teaching talents and horse experience, after a move to the US, teaching as adjunct faculty at Wilson College in the equine science program and creating the Community Riding Program at Wilson while developing her own farm in Pennsylvania. Her husband’s interest in thoroughbred racing led her to racing and breeding. Currently living in Lexington Ky, she has gained further insight into race training, racing ownership, sales prep, breeding, and aftercare. She is a current board member of Bourbon Lane Stables Retirement Fund which guarantees a home for any horse purchased for Bourbon Lane Racing Partnership.
